Footprints on Katmai

Inspired by the sketches in his late grandmother's sketchbooks, artist, filmmaker, and KEEN impact maker Max Romey retraces her travels to the remote beaches of Katmai, Alaska. There he joins a group of marine debris experts from the Ocean Plastics Recovery Project and discovers that a lot of people are making footprints on Katmai without ever visiting.

KEEN and Protect Our Winters are co-title sponsors of Max's inspiring, 22-minute film, Footprints on Katmai. It was featured at the 2024 Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride and premiered worldwide at KEEN HQ in Portland, OR. You can watch the full film here.
